Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 12, 2026

1. Introduction

Atmos Console is a weather observatory dashboard for Tempest stations. This policy describes what data the app uses and where it is stored.

2. Data we do not collect

We do not collect your name, email, or contact information. We do not collect usage or analytics data.

3. Data stored on your device

  • Tempest / WeatherFlow: If you add a Personal Access Token, the app stores it securely on your device (e.g. in the system keychain) to access the WeatherFlow API. We do not receive or store your token on our servers.
  • Station and device identifiers are stored on your device so the app can show data for your station and, if you use the API, request history from WeatherFlow.
  • Observation history (temperature, wind, pressure, etc.) is stored only on your device. You can choose how long to keep it (90 days, 1 year, 2 years, or indefinitely), export it (e.g. as CSV), or delete it in Settings.

4. Data sent to third parties

  • WeatherFlow API: If you use a Personal Access Token, the app sends requests (e.g. for station and observation data) to WeatherFlow. Those requests are subject to WeatherFlow's privacy policy and terms. We do not control WeatherFlow's practices.
  • We do not sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers. We do not use your data for cross-app tracking.

5. Location

Location is optional. If you allow access, the app may use it to provide local weather context. You can instead enter a location manually; no location permission is required for that.

6. Local network

The app can receive data from your Tempest station over your local Wi‑Fi. This traffic stays on your network; we do not receive it.

7. Notifications

If you enable notifications, the app schedules local alerts on this device for lightning, severe wind, and rain start, based on live observations. No data is sent to a remote notification service. You can disable any category, or all notifications, in Settings.

8. On-device machine learning and AI

Weather pattern detection uses a Core ML model that runs entirely on your device. On supported iPads (iPad Pro M1 or later, iPad Air M1 or later, iPad mini 7th gen) with Apple Intelligence enabled, detected conditions may include a short plain-language narration generated by Apple's on-device language model (Foundation Models framework). Neither process sends your observation data, station data, or any other information off your device.

9. Your choices

  • Turn off location in system Settings.
  • Turn off notifications in system Settings or in the app's Settings.
  • Remove your Personal Access Token or delete local history in the app's Settings.
  • Export or delete observation history from within the app.

10. Children

The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. Changes

We may update this policy and will post the new version with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use after changes means acceptance of the updated policy.
